Despite the high sugar content of figs, the final taste is very delicate. An ideal accompaniment with soft cheese (like Fois Gras) or ice-creams. In Romagna figs are usually tasted with typical cheese like Squaquerone and Raviggiolo. Figs are exquisit if slightly heated.
Candied figs are recommended with fresh pecorino, Taleggio, Casatella, Gorgonzola, Fontina, Mascarpone, Robiola, Fois Gras, Squaquerone and Raviggiolo. Very tasty with ice-cream and Crema Catalana.
