The 7 grams Santoreggia sachets, cultivated and dried in Abruzzo by Chieti's Garden of Flavor, are shredded in sterile sterile sachets to be sold as food insaporials. Santoreggia (Satureja) is a herb that belongs to the same mint family, very used in the kitchen because it strongly aromatic gives flavor to meat and fish dishes. Among the most commonly used species are Satureja spicigera, called winter, Satureja hortensis, called summer and Satureja montana. Of the Santoreggia we use the leaves harvested shortly before flowering and the inflorescences collected in full bloom. It is kept in bunches to smudge on the food at the time of use. Both the leaves and the flowers can be dried in dry, well ventilated and dark places. Sacrament is among the natural remedies against cramps. It grows and spontaneously reproduces, preferring the sunny positions of the Mediterranean regions up to 1500 meters above sea level. Today it is scarce and it is necessary to cultivate it.
