The finale taste, despite the high sugar content of fig, is not strong, but delicate. It is ideal with soft cheese (such as the refined Fois Gras) or ice cream. In Romagna they are usually tasted with typical cheese such as Squaquerone and Raviggiolo and they are extraordinary if slightly warmed in a pot.
Candied figs are recommended combined with fresh pecorino cheese, Taleggio, Casatella, Gorgonzola, Fontina, Mascarpone, Robiola, Fois Gras, typical cheese from Romagna like Squaquerone and Raviggiolo. Great also with ice-cream and Crema Catalana.
